About Me

I am a fully qualified and insured neuro-developmental therapist, having trained at Access Potential Ltd  under the guidance of Bob Allen, who is a leader in this field.

I became interested in neuro-developmental therapy after Bob successfully treated my 3 teenage children. Having seen the profound effects of the therapy (a special story) and experienced first–hand the difficulties children can face if their primitive reflexes remain active, I am passionate about helping others overcome these issues.

Whatever the difficulties you are dealing with, you will be treated with understanding and receive my full support. Having taken my own family through the treatment process, I am able to use my own experience as a parent to guide and support you and/or your child on this developmental journey.

I have my own practice in Harpenden.

Story

A special story

It was the remarkable transformation in my daughter that sparked my interest in this work.

Clearly intelligent, academic learning had nevertheless proved challenging for her. Numerous assessments had identified a host of seemingly unrelated issues that affected her learning including vision issues, slow processing, poor working memory and language and communication issues. She also had sensory issues and suffered with anxiety. Yet it always felt as if there was something we were all missing.

Unable to access or express her intelligence, her issues had affected her confidence and led to low self-esteem. Coupled with extreme anxiety, this had made her vulnerable and at secondary school she suffered bullying. This eventually led to self-harm and a serious eating disorder requiring hospitalisation.

When I first took her to see Bob Allen, it was a ‘eureka moment’. It was the first time anyone had identified the underlying cause of her difficulties and suddenly everything began to make sense – her issues were all connected and the result of neuro-developmental delay.

The treatment programme saw her many issues slowly resolve and disappear but perhaps most importantly, her confidence and self-esteem started to improve. She made a full recovery from anorexia and started to believe in herself for the first time in her life. This had a positive impact on her friendships and social life and over the coming months and years we saw her slowly but surely blossom into the happy and outgoing young woman she is today.

My daughter’s story features in a short documentary about Bob Allen’s work called
